Qazi Azmat Isa
Qazi Azmat Isa has 30 years of experience in the development sector. He is CEO of Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund, the lead apex institution for community-driven development in Pakistan. Qazi Azmat Isa has a passionate commitment to improve the lives of poor and marginalized people across Pakistan. This commitment is tempered by a healthy pragmatism which emanates from a diverse and cross-sectoral work experience and close contacts with government (federal and provincial) NGOs, Donors (Multilateral and Bilateral) and communities. This background has provided Mr. Qazi Azmat Isa with a deep insight of the issues in development and has enabled him wherever he has worked, to forge genuine partnerships between all key players in the development process and delivering results for the deprived and underprivileged. Previously, Mr. Isa was associated with the World Bank working in the rural and social sectors. Posted in Afghanistan, he managed the largest community driven development programme in the country and initiated a nationwide rural enterprise programme. Before that he headed a large NGO in Balochistan. Mr. Isa currently serves on several boards including Pakistan Microfinance Investment Company Ltd. and Benazir Income Support Programme.
Mr. Faisal Bengali
A professional fund manager with over 20 years’ experience, Mr. Faisal Bengali has proven skills in people management, regulatory dealings, risk management and optimizing fund performance. He is also adept in many other aspects of financial management, including budgeting, investment, financial analysis and asset management. Since June 2008, he has been Director Investments at PNO Capital. From 2004 to 2008, he was CEO AKD Investments Ltd., where he executed the management takeover of Golden Arrow Stock Fund, Pakistan’s oldest private sector closed-ended mutual fund. Previously from 1994 to 2004, he was Director Sales, AKD Securities Ltd. Early on in his career, he was Vice President, Bengal Fibre Industries Ltd. Mr. Bengali is an MBA Finance from Rice University, Houston Texas and BSc in Electrical Engineering from Northwestern University, Illinois. He is a Qualified Director from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan. Mr. Bengali has also participated in Canadian Securities Course offered by Canadian Securities Institute.
Qazi Mohammad Saleem Siddiqui
Qazi Mohammad Saleem Siddiqui graduated from Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.He was associated with the sugar industry for about five years before joining government service in November 1990. Since then, he has held various positions in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources, leading to his current post as Director General (Gas).Mr. Siddiqui is also a director on the board of Mari Petroleum Company Limited. He has also served as Director on the Boards of Pakistan Petroleum Limited and Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited. He is also member of Board of Governors of SAARC & Hydrocarbon Development Institute of Pakistan.
Mirza Mahmood Ahmad
Mirza Mahmood Ahmad is an established advocate of the Supreme Court and a partner at the prestigious law firm Minto & Mirza, Advocates & Solicitors. His professional career as a lawyer spans over 26 years in which he has provided invaluable services to the fields of corporate, constitutional, regulatory and banking laws. He has been involved with some of the most challenging litigations in these areas, having represented several companies and firms before different regulatory authorities including Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan, the Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority and the Karachi Stock Exchange. Mr. Ahmad has several publications/consultancies and research papers to his name including “Harmonizing the Code of Corporate Governance with other Laws/Regulations in Pakistan”, a UNDP-funded research study of SECP. Mr. Ahmad also serves on the board of SNGPL as the Chairman of the Finance Committee. He is also the Chairman of the Audit Committee of Pakistan Engineering Company. Mr. Ahmad also serves on the Board of Directors of MCB-Arif Habib Investments Ltd. He is also a member of the Supreme Court Bar Association as well as the Punjab Bar Council. Mr. Ahmad has an LLM from the University of Cambridge. He has been a lecturer at Quaid-e-Azam Law College since 1996 and regularly conducts lectures at the Executive Development Centre at LUMS as well as serves as the Director of Training Sessions conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants Pakistan.
Dr. Ahmed Mujtaba Memon
Dr. Ahmed Mujtaba Memon has been appointed as Director in SSGC Board by the Government of Pakistan with effect from April 5, 2018. Before his posting in Finance Division, Dr. Memon was serving as Director General Input Output Co-efficient Organization, Federal Bureau of Revenue, in Karachi. He joined Pakistan Customs and Excise Group (currently Pakistan Customs Service) in November 1987 and has worked in various capacities in Central Excise, Sales Tax, Valuation, Adjudication and Customs functional areas. He has also worked on Asian Development Bank’s Trade, Export Promotion and Industrialization (TEPI) loan project as Secretary TEPI in FBR. He brings with him a rich professional and academic background. His educational qualifications are MBBS, MA (Economics) and MBA Finance. Presently, he is working as Additional Finance Secretary (CF/HR) in Finance Division since, March 2018. He is also a member on the board of NESPAK & K-Electric.
Mr. Sher Afgan Khan
Mr. Sher Afgan Khan got his preliminary education, culminating in Senior Cambridge, from Aitchison College, Lahore. After completing his High School Diploma from Lahore American School, he graduated from University of Santa Clara, California, USA with a BSc degree. He joined Civil Services of Pakistan in PAS/DMG Group in 1989. After completion of training, he worked in various districts as Assistant Commissioner, Executive District Officer and District Coordination Officer and in the Secretariat as Deputy Secretary and Additional Secretary in the Departments of Housing, Irrigation and Environment. He also served as faculty/Instructor in Civil Services Academy (DMG Campus) and National School of Public Policy.Prior to joining Petroleum Division in April 2018, he worked as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Interior.Currently he is serving as Additional Secretary Ministry of Energy Petroleum Division and director on the board of Pakistan LNG Terminal Limited (PLTL) and Pak Arab Refinery Limited (PARCO). Mr. Khan is also Director of Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL).
Mr. Manzoor Ali Shaikh
Mr. Manzoor Ali Shaikh, an officer of Pakistan Administrative Service Federal Government in 8520 is presently posted as Executive Director, State Life Insurance Corporation of Pakistan. Prior to his posting in SLIC he has served the Federal and Provincial Government of Sindh in various positions. His last assignment was as Secretary to the Government of Sindh for Labor and Human Resources Department. He has also served as Secretary Forests and Wildlife Department. He has also worked as Director General Trade Development Authority of Pakistan and Executive Director Trading Corporation of Pakistan, and Divisional Commissioner Sukkur Division. Mr. Manzoor Ali Shaikh joined the Civil Services in 1994 and has vast professional experience in Senior Management positions in diversified fields such as Public Sector Management, Administration, Trade and Commerce, Planning and Development, Poverty Alleviation and Crisis Management. He has attended professional training courses and workshops including conducted by Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance (PICG) on Governance of Risk and Human Resource and Remuneration Committeé. Mr. Manzoor Ali Shaikh has Professional Degree in Civil Engineering, and has attained a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics.
Mr. Syed Akhtar Ali
Syed Akhtar Ali is an eminent energy expert and consultant, advising public and private sector clients on energy policy, investments and tariff issues and has authored a number of books on the subject. He has recently been Member Energy, Planning Commission dealing with Energy Policy and investment issues. He was a visiting Professor of Energy at IoBM and has taught energy management to MBA students. He has held top management appointments in Pakistan’s public and private sector. He was Research Fellow Energy at Harvard University. He is an author of eight books on various subjects such as energy, governance, political economy and resources. In addition to in-country assignments, he has supervised and done consulting assignments in Energy Sector in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and South Asia. In the area of energy policy, tariff, sustainability, environment, conservation, energy efficiency and renewable energy. He has spent considerable time and energy for the development of local equipment manufacturing particularly in Energy sector. He has been member of Expert Working groups and various committees of federal and provincial governments including chambers of commerce.
