SSGC’s UFG currently stands at 105 mmcfd; 400 mmcfd suggested in the media is highly exaggerated.
UFG in parlance of gasdistribution and Transmission Company mean the difference b/w gas purchased involume, gas billed in volume and gas used internally by the company for itsoperation.
The UFG phenomenon can be classified into two categories:
UFG cannot be fought by SSGC alone. It is the customers who have to rise against this scourge and not just refrain from such contributing factors as gas theft and meter tampering but report one, especially since gas theft is now a crime as per recent legislation.
SSGC News latest: Due to delay in completion of maintenance work at Bhit gas field, SSGC will receive normal gas supply in its network at about 6 am on Thursday morning. After getting proper line pack, SSGC will be in a position to provide gas to all CNG stations in Sindh after 2pm on Thursday 4th July, thus CNG Stations will open at 2pm inspite of at 8am as announced earlier. The inconvenience is regretted.
CNG Stations will open tomorrow (Thursday) at at 2:30 pm due to line maintenance issues. The rest of the schedule will be shared as per further updates.
Apple Inc. plans to build a new solar farm with NV Energy Inc. to function as a power supply to its new data center in Reno, Nevada. The plan is seen as a major step towards the company’s goal of having its data centers run on renewable energy. Apple and other technology companies that build and run computer server farms have come under criticism for their high consumption of electricity and other resources, Reuters said. The new solar farm will provide power to Sierra Pacific Power Co.’s electric grid, which serves Apple’s data center. When completed, it will generate about 43.5 million kilowatt hours of clean energy a year.
