A complaint of a rampant gas theft in Sector IV Ahsanabad Town, Karachi was received through E-Kachehri /PMDU to SSGC’s Distribution Central Zone. The Theft Control team of the Company’s Customer Relations Division (CRD) raided the locality yesterday and found nearly resident consuming gas from 800 illegal connections through ten fake service connections.
Summarily, the team disconnected the illegal connections in the area. At the same time, CRD requested the Company’s Security Services Department to include the location in its regular monitoring schedule.
Acting on yet another complaint reported from Shantinagar, Baldia Town, Karachi, CRD in coordination with the Company’s Security Services and Distribution West, conducted a joint raid. The raiding team discovered that the SSGC laid 180 mm PE line was illegally extended with a 63-mm PE line to supply gas to unauthorized users. During the raid, approximately 1,000 residents using illegal gas had their connections dismantled.
