Improving Service Delivery – SSGC Re-strategizing Network Rehabilitation

 Rehabilitation of Distribution network has been re-strategized. The quantum of network rehabilitation effort has been amped up to over 600 Km per annum. 
 A master plan is under development, aiming to rehabilitate of around 4,500 Km distribution network in next 3 years.   
 Network Rehabilitation works in FY 2021-22: Karachi (285Km), Interior Sindh 180 Km, Balochistan (4Km).
 Network Rehabilitation works in FY 2022-23: Karachi (492Km), Interior Sindh (202 Km), Balochistan (49 Km).
 Major rehabilitation schemes in the interior Sindh region are planned in 3 cities i.e., Kandhkot: 113 Km, Shahdadkot: 92 Km, Sakrand: 75 Km. 
 Execution phase started for around 800 KM network rehabilitation schemes in respect of DHA phases I,II, V , VI & VII. Rehabilitation works completed for Phase I and II. Rehabilitation of Phase VI shall be completed in a couple of months, whereas work in Phase V and VII will start soon.
 Projects to rehabilitate around 400Km distribution pipelines in Lyari and Baldia have been planned. 
 F.B. Area, North Nazimabad schemes and Korangi schemes of around 750 Km are in planning phase. 
 Through these endeavors service delivery will improve in the tail-end areas of the distribution network.
 A master plan has already chalked out, aiming to rehabilitate of around 4,500 Km distribution network in next 3 years.   
 Another project to rehabilitate around 400Km distribution pipelines in Lyari is under final stages of planning. Through these endeavors service delivery will improve in the tail-end areas of the distribution network by laying proper size pipelines, which will substantially reduce customer complaints.
