Qualification & Experience:

MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) from an Institute / Medical College recognized by Pakistan Medical and Dental Association with at least 2 years of working experience required in relevant field. 

 

Proven experience in clinical practice, preferably in occupational health or corporate healthcare.

 

Certification in occupational health is preferred.

Responsibilities:

    JOB SUMMARY

     

    The main purpose of this position is to provide high-quality medical care to employees, managing health services, and ensuring compliance with medical regulations. This role involves diagnosing and treating illnesses, performing health assessments, and promoting workplace health and safety. The Medical Officer also collaborates with other healthcare professionals and departments to support the overall health and well-being of the company’s workforce.

     

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    1. Provide medical consultations, diagnose illnesses, and prescribe appropriate treatments.
    2. Perform routine health assessments, physical examinations, and screenings.
    3. Manage chronic conditions and follow up on patients' progress.
    4. Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid and emergency treatment as needed.
    5. Develop and implement health promotion programs and initiatives to improve employee well-being.
    6. Educate employees on preventive healthcare measures, such as vaccinations, healthy lifestyle choices, and workplace safety.
    7. Conduct pre-employment and periodic medical examinations for employees.
    8. Assess and manage work-related injuries and illnesses, ensuring compliance with occupational health regulations.
    9. Provide guidance on workplace safety to prevent injuries.
    10. Maintain accurate and confidential medical records for all consultations, treatments, and examinations.
    11. Ensure all medical documentation complies with legal and regulatory requirements
    12. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, company policies, and occupational health standards.
    13. Stay updated on changes in medical laws and regulations and implement necessary adjustments.
    14. Collaborate with other healthcare providers, HR, and HSE officers to support employee health and safety.
    15. Communicate effectively with employees regarding their health concerns and treatment plans.
    16. Monitor and analyze health trends within the company to identify potential health risks.
    17. Implement health surveillance programs to detect and mitigate health issues early.
    18. Provide training to employees on health-related topics, including first aid, CPR, and disease prevention.
    19. Educate staff on emergency response procedures and the proper use of medical equipment.
    20. Participate in continuous professional development and medical education programs to stay current with medical advancements and best practices.
    21. Contribute to the continuous improvement of medical services within the company
    22. Ensure compliance with clinical protocols.

    24. Assist in making assessment of chronic medical cases in detail, maintain case summaries and update medical records with regular follow up.

    26. Refer to panel facilities for further specialized treatment, prognosis, surgery or diagnostic tests, if considered necessary.
    27. Initiate referrals only when specifically warranted by circumstances and strictly in accordance with criteria and procedures prescribed in the manual. 
    28. Assist in preparing hospital admission form on the basis of admission advice received from the hospital.
    29. The individual shall ensure compliance to the Enterprise Risk Management Framework enforced in the Company while performing job responsibilities in accordance with his assigned role.
    30. The individual shall ensure compliance to the Business Principles and Ethics Policy / Code of Conduct.
    31. Undertake any other assignment as instructed by immediate supervisor.
