LNG — Centre of Discussion at the 9th Pakistan Energy Forum

Project Director (LGs) SSGC’s addressed the august gathering

The 9th Pakistan Energy Forum 2017 was held on February 23, 2017 at Marriot Hotel in Islamabad. This forum is a regular feature of Shamrock Conferences staged in Islamabad on annual basis. The theme of the conference was ‘Approaching New Frontiers in Energy Efficiency’. A distinguished list of speakers dilated on critical current trends in the energy sector including LNG.

SSGC was represented at the event by lmran Farookhi, ADMD (CS), Mohammad Wasim, ADMD (Ops) and Asim Tirmizi, Project Director (Liquefied Gases). Mr. Tirmizi spoke at the session entitled “Integrating Public and Private Investment for Equitable Energy Mix. He mentioned that “given the current production projections and shortage of gas, one initiative to bridge the gap is Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG)”. Other honorable speakers who shared the stage at the session included, Werner E. Liepach, Country Director, Asian Development Bank, Sardar Shaukat Aziz Popalzai and Mr. Mahfooz Ahmed Qazi, Director, Energy Department, Government of Sindh.

Over 150 delegates from the federal and provincial ministries, regulatory bodies, think-tanks, academia, foreign missions and the media joined the day-long conference.
