Live screening of Pakistan-India match

Auditorium turns festive
NEWSToo bad we lost that game but the live screening of the T-20 World Cup game on March 21, 2014 between Pakistan and India itself was a hit. It was the first time CCD had organized a live telecast inside the Head Office Auditorium. And although the match began an hour after office hours i.e. around 6.30 pm, the screening witnessed a full house of supporters yearning to buck up their team. A festive ambience was created by adorning the auditorium with flags of countries competing in the T-20 World Cup, filling up the main stage with green, blue and white ballons and various sporting memorabilia.

Being the organizing department, CCD led by DGM Shahbaz Islam was in full force at the auditorium welcoming the audience, leading the enthusiastic cheering for Pakistan team and even taking the floor whenever Pakistan would get an Indian batsman out or its Pakistan would score a hundred. It didn’t take long for the audience to get started. They cheered at every boundary, lamented every wicket and showed disappointment whenever a Pakistani bowler was hit for a maximum.

Sohail Jaleel, DGM (Customer Relations) and Muhammad Ali Gohar, DCM (Media Relations) kept the audience engaged with their humorous brand of commentary, which has now become SSGC tradition. Despite the fact that India had the upper hand for most part of the game, through their witty remarks, they kept the audience totally entertained.
During the innings break, Sohail Jaleel became the quiz master. The Customer Relations man accompanied by one of the event organizers Danish Javed, AM CCD, asked the audience some tough cricket questions which they answered effortlessly.

By the 15th over, the writing was on the wall and the Indian pair of Kohli and Raina were showing little mercy to Saeed Ajmal and Co. Hoping against all hope, the audience stayed on in the auditorium till the end. While leaving the hall, many thanked CCD for organizing the live showing and hoped that this screening will certainly not be the last, especially if it will be one that will be featuring Pakistan.
