JOB SUMMARY
To deliver high-quality nursing care and medical support to SSGC employees, their dependents, and other eligible beneficiaries at SSGC Medical Centers. The nurse is responsible for ensuring proper implementation of medical protocols, assisting doctors during clinical and emergency procedures, maintaining first aid services, and promoting health, hygiene, preventive care across the organization. The position also requires traveling to different company locations and project sites to support medical operations as needed.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Patient Care & Clinical Support
- Assist doctors in patient examinations, minor procedures, and follow-up care.
- Administer prescribed medications, injections, and dressings as per medical orders.
- Monitor vital signs and document patient progress in the medical record system.
- Manage emergency cases by providing immediate first aid and stabilizing the patient until transfer to a hospital, if required.
- Ensure proper triage and patient flow at the medical center.
2. Health Records & Documentation
- Maintain accurate patient records, treatment logs, and daily activity reports.
- Update and manage patient data in the ERP or electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Support medical billing and claims documentation where applicable.
3. Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate with laboratory collection points for referrals, follow-ups, and report collection.
- Liaise with the case management and medical billing teams for continuity of care and claim processing.
- Communicate effectively with employees and dependents regarding treatment plans and preventive health guidelines.
4. First Aid & Emergency Preparedness
- Maintain and regularly check medical crash trolleys, first aid boxes in ER and ambulances.
- Provide first aid training to designated staff when required.
- Ensure readiness of medical equipment and emergency drugs at all times.
5. Inventory & Equipment Management
- Maintain adequate stock of medicines, vaccines, and consumables at the ER of medical center.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of pharmaceuticals according to safety standards.
- Report shortages, expiries, or equipment malfunction promptly.
6. Infection Control & Quality Assurance
- Follow infection prevention and control protocols strictly.
- Ensure cleanliness and hygiene of the medical center premises.
- Support implementation of quality healthcare standards and internal audits.
7. Additional Duties
- Participate in health awareness campaigns and preventive screening programs (e.
g., diabetes, hypertension, vaccination drives).- Assist in medical reporting and data compilation for departmental KPIs.
- Perform any other medical or administrative tasks assigned by supervisors.
8. Clinical Skills
- Patient Assessment & Monitoring (BP, pulse, temperature, oxygen saturation, BMI, etc.
).- Medication Administration & Treatment Support (Administer oral, injectable, and intravenous medications, nebulization, oxygen therapy, and dressing changes as prescribed)
- Emergency & First Aid Management (Provide immediate first aid for workplace injuries, accidents, or medical emergencies, CPR, airway management, wound control, etc.
).- Clinical Procedures
- Wound dressing and suturing assistance
- Catheterization and IV cannulation
- ECG recording and preliminary interpretation
- Blood sugar testing
- Vaccination and immunization administration
- Ensure aseptic and infection control techniques are followed during all procedures.
- Health Education & Counseling
- Record Keeping & Documentation (Enter and update medical data in the ERP or EMR system)
- Infection Control & Safety Compliance (Implement infection prevention and control protocols (hand hygiene, sterilization, PPE usage and dispose of biomedical waste safely and as per health and safety regulations)
Occupational Health Support (Provide on-site first aid coverage during company events, maintenance shutdowns, or field activities).
