Qualification & Experience:

MBA with at least 4 years of working experience in Government / Semi Government / Reputable Corporate Organization. Procurement process with knowledge of Shipping / Logistics, Government policies / SROs, Custom Clearance / duties, marine policy and Imports and Exports

Responsibilities:
    • Supervise and monitor activities related to shipment of goods by the respective suppliers
    • Coordinate with immediate supervisor to develop and roll out relevant policies & procedure in compliance with the SSGC procurement policy.
    • Undertake research and develop economical, efficient and secure modes of shipment, clearing and inland transportation.
    • Responsible for timely clearance of consignments from Customs in collaboration with Clearing & Forwarding agent.
    • Responsible for establishment of LCs and coordination with Banks and TF Department for follow up.
    • Responsible for taking approvals for imports, exports and export cum import from State Bank of Pakistan wherever required.
    • Closely monitor activities related to shipment of goods until these are received at the SSGC warehouses and by the end users.
    • Keep the immediate supervisor regularly informed about the shipments status and possible delays beyond the prescribed schedules.
    • Closely coordinate with SSGC warehouses to ensure that the goods received are in accordance with the respective purchase orders/tenders in terms of quantity and prescribed quality standards.
    • In coordination with inland transport companies, recommend systems to safeguard in-transit safety of the shipped materials.
    • Keep immediate supervisor, order management, user department and Finance department informed in case certain goods are not received in accordance with the prescribed quality, quantities and physical conditions.
    • Provide necessary inputs to order management section and Finance department for lodge of claim on supplier or insurance company.
    • Contribute towards the tactical & strategic review of the routine operations and ensure compliance with SSGC guidelines and relevant legal requirements.
    • Establish and manage an effective paper trail and record system for the relevant documents.
    • Guide, counsel and train other team members to enhance their relevant skills level.
