Qualification & Experience:

Engineering Graduate (16 years of education), preferably mechanical with 14 years of post-qualification experience including 4 years’ experience in senior management / leadership role. Experience of working in Oil & Gas Sector shall be preferred.

Responsibilities:

    Job Summary

     

    The purpose of this position is to ensure gas boosting system availability, reliability and maintainability in SSGC transmission network. The position is also responsible to coordinate with other operational departments to maintain adequate pressure in the network through judicious use of compression facilities so that gas may be delivered to consumers.

     

    Job Responsibilities

     

    • Ensure compressor stations reliability through preventive maintenance, monitoring and evaluation of performance as well as conducting expansion of plants as required in compliance with international codes & standards.
    • Maintain the required gas flows at adequate pressures, according to designed conditions based on supply/demand throughout the year.
    • Supervise and direct employees in routine operations of the compression system.
    • Create intraday short-term forecasts to meet customer needs and ensure delivery of contracted gas supplies.
    • Coordinate with SCADA engineers, and network operations executives to for efficient operation and pressures & volume data
    • Monitor and maintain pressure conditions throughout transmission system through the operation of Pressure Control Stations, Compressor Stations and other pipeline resources.
    • Supervise operation and maintenance of captive generation equipment installed for compression set ups at different SSGC locations.

    • Prepare and implement plans for designing, installations and commissioning of compression expansions for augmentation of transmission system for injection of new gas supplies into the system as and when required in compliance with the prescribed Quality and HSE Standards, to remove any bottlenecks and to enhance the capacity of the system
    • Review operations of natural gas pipeline control room with 100% reliability while coordinating construction and/or maintenance related operating restrictions as well as abnormal and emergency operations with management and field personnel
    • Comply with safety and emergency requirements during the course of operating the Transmission Pipeline system.
    • Activate and operate emergency back-up facilities as required by procedure
    • Periodically organize and conduct inspections of compressor station’s reliability through preventive maintenance, monitoring and evaluation of performance as well as conducting expansion of plants.
    • Approve design changes of all engineering changes related to management of change 
    • Analyze annual financial requirements of the department and guide the team in preparation of revenue and capital budget and correspond with vendor and internal interfaces for different business-related issues
    • Conduct Training Needs Assessment of staff and advise HR for arranging training for skill enhancement
    • Perform any other task assigned by immediate supervisor
