Engineering Graduate (16 years of education), preferably mechanical with 17 years of post-qualification experience including 5 years’ experience in senior management / leadership role. Experience of working in Oil & Gas / Public Sector shall be preferred.  Masters in Project Management would have added advantage.

    Job Summary

     

    The purpose of this position is to provide a leadership role in technical areas comprising planning and development, projects and construction, and liquefied gases (LNG/LPG). The position is responsible for conceptualization, engineering design, materials specifications & planning and governance of an integrated project management process geared to manage significant projects related to construction, system enhancement and rehabilitation from “end to end”, as per agreed timelines and within budget, while complying with the applicable standards of safety, health, environmental, security and quality. The incumbent also provides overall direction in the business of liquefied gases including natural gas (LNG) and petroleum gas (LPG) encompassing the full value chain, management of LPG/Air Mix Plants, LNG shippers, terminals and market players, providing insight into the ways in which SSGC may optimally realize the potential of liquefied gas business.

     

    Job Responsibilities

     

    • Ensure that gas transmission network capacity and configuration is adequate to fulfil the operational requirements in a safe and efficient manner.
    • Review the network performance on a continual basis and organize planning of new projects accordingly. 
    • Oversee and guide the team in processing of gas sale and purchase agreements that include all the relevant clauses and terms safeguarding the interests of the company.
    • Lead the installation and upgrades of transmission lines projects and high-pressure distribution lines in accordance with the international industry codes and standards.
    • Organize the construction of SSGC’s field offices, regional offices, stores, residential and other office buildings.
    • Review the management and supply of Re-gasified Liquefied Natural Gas (RLNG) to customers through SSGC pipelines according to the annual demand and supply plan.
    • Direct the planning and operations of LPG Air Mix Plants (AMP) that produce Synthetic Natural Gas (SNG) to be injected into the distribution network.
    • Implement the company’s vision, culture, and performance standards and ensure that it is adopted at all levels of the division.
    • Oversee recruitment of the management personnel in an effort to guarantee optimal execution of duties within the division at all times.

    • Act as a mentor for key personnel within the division for capacity enhancement and career growth.
    • Ensure improvement in the skills of key personnel for effective succession planning.
    • Define the structure and execution of strategic initiatives through the development of work plans, gathering and generation of relevant data, conducting analyses, and the development of actionable recommendations.
    • Provide short and long-term strategic recommendations to top management and the division’s executives regarding improvement in operations, cost control and to capitalize on opportunities.
    • Evaluate and recommend strategies, concepts, practices, programs, processes, and measures to be applied across the division.
    • Establish performance measures that will determine the effectiveness of implemented policies of the division and identify areas for strategic improvement.
    • Work with the division’s executives and stakeholders in order to evaluate the overall performance against targets and make necessary adjustments as is necessary.
    • Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that the division will measure performances against and determine the effectiveness of the implemented strategies.
    • Draft regular analysis reports for the Managing Director, Board of Directors and Deputy Managing Director, and relevant stakeholders for purposes of further decision making.
    • Collaborate across the organization with top leadership for formulation for system enhancement and improvement projects and initiatives.
    • Oversee major project(s) including planning, implementation, and delivery and reporting.
    • Collaborate internally within the division with the head of departments and stakeholders in order to ensure that there is a free flow of ideas and information across the division, leading to overall performance enhancement.
    • Undertake any other task assigned by the immediate supervisor.
